We’ve been extra busy over the last couple of months, in preparation for opening our new showroom in Thetford, Norfolk.
The 2,000 sq ft showroom opened in late July, so we were delighted when the Thetford and Brandon Times asked to visit us just a couple of weeks later to write an article on our growing business.
The team were keen to understand why we’d selected an industrial estate warehouse on Stephenson Way for our first Norfolk premises. We explained that our Director was brought up in Thetford, a market town on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. He referenced the demise in the UK high street in recent years, the closure of Multiyork (a Norfolk-based furniture company which had resulted in hundreds of redundancies), and the increasing movement of local and national businesses from high street shops to industrial estates. Best Beds Direct’s new showroom is well-placed on the corner of Stephenson Way, amongst a number of other businesses offering diverse, in-demand services and products, including car repairs, carpets, haircuts, beauty treatments, and driving lessons. The new showroom enables us to have an office space, with opening hours, allowing the trade and public to walk in and view a broad selection of quality products.
We showed the team our large display of mattresses, bases and headboards, which we have carefully selected from household names including Myer’s, Mlily, Vogue, Highgate and Healthopaedic. We explained that we pride ourselves on offering quality beds and mattresses for diverse budgets, ensuring there is something of value for everyone. We also offer a personalised delivery to local postcodes, building on our growing network of national delivery partners.
The showroom has a number of Mlily mattresses on display. These mattresses are made from various filling combinations and arrive rolled – making them easy to manoeuvre to your room of choice. They look great, but most importantly feel great, and they’ve been flying out the door since we started displaying them.
Our wider, online range of beds and mattresses is also proving a success, with Kayflex mattresses particularly popular in the last few months. Kayflex mattresses are made to order in Yorkshire – and in many cases, the mattress can be made and despatched on the same day as the order is placed (if order is processed before 10am weekdays). This means you could order a Kayflex mattress at 9.30am on Monday, and be sleeping on your dreamy new bed before the end of the week! What more could you ask for?
We are continuously looking for ways to improve – and a key part of that is seeking feedback from our customers, and listening to what they need. A recent example of this is when a customer visited our Thetford showroom, a couple of weeks ago, in search of an adjustable bed. Whilst we didn’t have one on display, we did have one perfect for her on our website. We promptly ordered one for the showroom, and contacted the customer when it arrived to let her know there was one in store to try before she purchased. Needless to say, we had yet another happy customer – and the product has proven popular with others since.
