When should you replace your mattress?
When should you replace your mattress?
Come rain or shine, no matter the day of the week, we hear customers time and time again saying they’re aching, have bad backs, and aren’t sure what the problem is… Well, if you haven’t been diagnosed with anything in particular, this may well mean you’re in need of a new bed!
“But how do I know when’s the right time to replace my mattress?” – you may be asking. We’re here to help you work that out.
If any of the below ring true for you, the time is most probably now:
- Your mattress is over 8 years old
- You don’t wake up feeling rested
- You wake with aches and pains
- The bed squeaks
- There’s worn or sagging areas
- Your allergies are playing up (dust mite allergies can cause sneezing, runny noses, coughing, watery eyes, itchiness and sinus pressure)
- You spend the night tossing and turning
- You’ve experienced a significant change in weight, e.g. after an accident or giving birth – what supported you a few years ago, may no longer be enough
We sometimes speak to customers who haven’t had their current mattress for very long – say, 1 or 2 years – but they still complain of unexplained aches and pains… The truth is, even if your mattress is in its early years, mattresses are only as good as: 1) what they’re filled with, and 2) how they’re looked after… so if you bought it super cheap from the back of a van, bought it second-hand, and/or haven’t been rotating or turning it, chances are high that your mattress is already done for!
What better time to check out our diverse range of mattresses… we’ve got everything you could want – from soft to firm, latex to natural fillings, foam-encapsulated to hand-tufted… the choice is endless.
…And while you’re here – don’t forget the base either! A new mattress will always be so much better supported if it sits on a decent base. So if you’ve had your bed for the lifetime of your mattress (or indeed longer!) why not check out our great combo deals and treat yourself to the full package.
